Welcome to the memorial page for

Roberta Jane Troyer

July 26, 1932 ~ January 24, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old
Roberta Jane Troyer, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2017 at Grace Assisted Living facility in Boise, Idaho.  Roberta was born in Chinook, Montana on July 26, 1932 to Wallace and Viola Withrow.  As a child, she moved many times with her family, as her father was a contractor with Morrison Knudson.  She graduated from Payette High School and later married Robert Eugene Troyer in August of 1950.

Bob and Roberta lived in Notus and Payette until moving to Parma in 1968.  Roberta raised four children: Judy, Linda, Mike and Nick.  Her main interests were her children as she was always a mom first; she never missed a band concert, school play, swim meet, sporting event, or parade - and was never late picking up or dropping off any of her children in their daily events. Roberta kept books for the family business, Troyer Oil for 15 years; she then worked for the local dentist, Dr. Tom Thebo, for several years until he retired; and she finished her working career at First Security Bank in Parma until her retirement at age 65.

Throughout her life in Parma she was heavily involved in Eastern Star and PEO, and wore out many decks of cards with her Bridge groups.  One of Roberta’s greatest gifts was the generosity she gave to her children’s friends.  She was always so caring and giving, and took many of them in as if they were her own.  “Mom Troyer” always asked real questions about their lives and how life was treating them; she cared deeply about their well being and continued to ask questions about them into the last days of her life.  In addition, she cherished her close friends, with whom she shared many chuckles, foibles, and follies.

Parma was a great town for Roberta, and Roberta was great for the town of Parma.  She was involved in the town, remained social and active, and her trips to the M&W market were often “meet and greets” ending with a dinner invite and a glass of wine.  Roberta enjoyed entertaining people on her patio in the home she and Bob lived in for 44 years.

Roberta was the youngest of three siblings, and was known to her various Withrow nieces and nephews as “Aunt Babe.”  Sadly, with her passing, the Withrow family name has come to its end.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Wallace Withrow, sister Eileen (Withrow) Farson, Brother Lee Withrow and son Mike Troyer.  She is survived by children Judy (Barbara), Linda, and Nick (Trina); four grandchildren Craig (Kim) Emery, Jake (Christa) Emery, Vali Emery, and Janie Troyer; three great grandchildren  Quinae Blewett, Macy Emery, and Ella Emery, and of course, her beloved four-legged companion, Rudy.
