Darlene Marie Miller

Darlene Marie Miller, 73, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully at home Tuesday evening the 6th of December, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Montana Avenue Baptist Church, Caldwell.
Darlene was born September 20, 1943 in Saint Francis, Kansas, to Loyd and Dona Miller. She moved to Caldwell, Idaho in 1947 where she attended the Caldwell School District. When she grew up she worked at Troy Laundry in Caldwell with her mother. It was here that she met the love of her life, Earlis Miller. They were married July 30, 1966. From this union were born three daughters, Rebecca Lynn, Phyllis Lorraine, and Susan Elaine.
Darlene loved taking care of the disabled and the elderly and worked as a nursing assistant for the Odd Fellows home and Autumn Wind Assisted Living until illness forced her into early retirement in 2005. After retirement, she spent her time sewing beautiful quilts, which she took great pride in and loved giving as gifts to her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Dona Miller, her two sisters Betty and Phyllis, and her five brothers Harold, William, Larry, Vernon, and Charles.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Earlis Miller of Caldwell; three daughters Rebecca Hobbs, Phyllis Miller, and Susan Denny all of Caldwell; a grand-daughter, Megan Halcom of Caldwell; and 2 brothers, Bob Miller of Union, OR and Royce Miller of Yakima, WA.

If roses grow in Heaven,
Lord, please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my mother’s arms
And tell her they’re from me
Tell her I love and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for awhile
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it everyday,
But there’s an ache within my heart
That will never go away.
