Joe Deep Yuen, Jr., 80 of Caldwell, formerly of Sublime, Texas died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at home. Joe was born on April 29, 1937 to Ila Catherine (Whitehead) and Joe Deep Yuen, Sr. in Memphis, Tennessee.
Joe married Mary Jean Tolbert in Houston, Texas on November 26, 1954 and they had six children; Joel Wayne, Joseph Paul, Rebecca Ann, Jesse Dee, Mia Lynn and Buddy Joe. They lived in Humble, Eagle Lake and Sublime, Texas, before later moving to Boise, Idaho and settling in Caldwell.
Joe was a retired sheet metal journeyman with well over 50 years in the industry and was a long-standing member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #54 in Houston, Texas and then Local #55 in Boise, Idaho.
Joe had a wide variety of interests, including collecting memorabilia of many kinds, gold panning, camping, hunting and fishing, He loved his animals and most importantly - taking care of and "pestering" his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mary; their five children, Joel Wayne Yuen (Cynthia) of Emmett, ID, Joseph Paul Yuen, Sr. (Jeannine) of Galena, KS, Rebecca Ann Yuen Guzman (Ray Phillips) of Madisonville, KY, (Gilbert Guzman, Sr.) of Sandsprings, OK, (Kathy Yuen Poorbaugh) of Liberty, TX, Mia Lynn Yuen (Richard Graf) of Hallettsville, TX, and Buddy Joe Yuen (Julie Faylor) of Caldwell, ID; 15 grandchildren, Alex, Ty, Michelle, P.J., Tammy, Ashley, Jody, Tabby, Jesse, Billy, Jennifer, Ray, Robert, Jessica and Justin; 27 great-grandchildren, Justin, Dustin, Dalton Cutter, Gwen, Joey, Kaitlyn, Damien, Kamryn, Kadyn, Nikki, Patton, Jessie, B.J., Kelsey, Danika, J.D., Jr., Gaige, Willow, Ivy, Danielle, Kody, Coltyn, McKynzie, Noah and Alyviuh; 2 great great-grandchildren, Brilynn Ann and Gabby Ann; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father; two siblings; his son, Jesse Dee Yuen, Sr.; his daughter-in-law, Stephena Nagelmueuer Yuen; his son-in-law, Michael Ray Judd, Sr.; and a great-grandson, Layton Charles Sollock.
