Braden Glen Fillmore

May 27, 1997 ~ June 17, 2017 (age 20) 20 Years Old
On June 17, 2017, Braden Glen Fillmore, age 20, departed this world for heaven, as a result of injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident in rural Malheur County, Oregon. He was born May 27, 1997 to Mark and Diana (Schrock) Fillmore.

Braden began his life in Hereford, OR, where his parents operated a cattle ranch. He attended Burnt River School in Unity, OR through 2006 before moving with his family to continue ranching in his father’s home town of Jordan Valley, OR. Braden attended WW Jones Elementary School and graduated in 2015 from Jordan Valley High School. He was an active member of FFA, 4-H, High School Rodeo and Gem State Rodeo Associations, and was an exceptional athlete competing in Track, Basketball and Football. During high school, he went on a ten day trip to Spain with his older brother and classmates. It was one of the greatest highlights of his life.

Studying business and pursuing his love of football, Braden went on to college at Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. As a result of a foot injury during practice, Braden was unable to play football, but remained a part of the team and made many close friends. He enrolled in Central Oregon Community College in Bend, OR in 2017 to continue studying business and was spotted by the college’s rugby coach and asked to join the rugby team. Although he had never seen a rugby match, he joined the team and thoroughly enjoyed his new sport. At the end of the school year, Braden was employed by Discount Tire in Bend and was in the process of renting a house with some friends he made while attending college there.

Braden lived life to the fullest. He loved to travel, cook, fish, hunt, team rope and was very fond of music. He cared deeply for his family and friends and always made time to visit and hang out with them as much as possible. He was kind-hearted and loved to see others succeed. Braden’s bright smile and charming personality will always be remembered by his family and the many friends he made in the various stages of his life.

He is survived by his parents Mark and Diana Fillmore; his brothers Quinn Fillmore and Trevor Fillmore; great-grandmother Elizabeth Breiler; grandparents Dennis and Darlene Giesen, Dale and Dana Schrock and Ralph and Kay Fillmore; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many members of the Jordan Valley community who are just like family.

A Celebration of Braden’s Life will be held at the Jordan Valley City Park on Monday, June 26th, 2017 at 4:00 PM.
There will be a potluck dinner immediately following the celebration with meat and rolls provided.

An account for memorial donations is being set up to help fund a new structure enabling the enhancement of community gatherings.
