Wilma A. Benham, 102, of Caldwell, died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the home of her daughter in Citrus Heights, California. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15th at Dakan Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
Wilma was born October 29, 1915 at Greenleaf, Idaho to Bert E. and May Garlick. She was raised with her 10 brothers and sisters on a ranch in Wilder and graduated for Wilder High School. Wilma married L.W. “Bill” Benham on June 16, 1934 and together they had three daughters.
Wilma had many talents including playing piano and violin. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and Worthy Matron of Marion Lodge in Mountain Home. In 1973, Wilma and Bill moved out by Lake Lowell where they enjoyed their retirement until Bill’s passing in 1989. In 2000, Wilma moved to Nampa to be closer to her family.
Wilma is survived by her daughters, Arlene (Loren) Kopesky of Rosemont, MN and Marlene Backman of Citrus Heights, CA; son-in-law, Keith Kehler of Nampa, ID; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; daughter, Lynne Kehler; a granddaughter; 2 great-granddaughters; her parents; and her 10 brothers & sisters.
