William Frank “Bill” Johnson, 85, of Caldwell, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by family on June 21, 2022. Bill always said he was the dash between dates, and he lived his dash to the fullest.
Bill was born on May 23, 1937, in Caldwell, Idaho, to Francis and Jeanne Johnson. Bill had one sister, Mary Fran (Felipe) Aguirre, and a brother Clifford. He made Caldwell his home. He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1955. Bill joined the Idaho Army National Guard and was assigned to Headquarters Troop, 1st Recon Squadron,116th Armored Cavalry Division. He was in the Guard from 1954-1963. Bill loved airplanes and motorcycles and could be found with either at any time. After the Guard, Bill followed in his family's footsteps and became a printer at Caxton Printers in Caldwell.
In 1965 he married Sharon Uehlin and in 1971 they had a daughter, Jennifer. Bill had a close group of lifelong friends he would spend time with riding motorcycles, camping, waterskiing, and most other outdoor activities. Bill was an active member of the First Christian Church and later Deer Flat Church. In 1978, Bill met and married B’Ann Gusick and gained a son (Jeff) and daughter (Crissy). Bill was a loving husband, father, step-father, and friend to all who knew him. Bill was a quiet person who liked to sit and listen to others talk but could tell a great story. Bill will be missed by all.
Bill is survived by his wife B’Ann; daughter, Jennifer King; daughter, Crissy (Griff) Hanna; daughter-in-law, Jari James; grandkids Nicole King, Elise Hanna, Natalie King, Chase Hanna, and Ashlyn Hanna; nieces and nephews, Richard Aguirre, Jeannie Aguirre Kiel, Carmen Buckingham, and Felipe Aguirre.
The celebration of life for Bill will be held on Wednesday, July 6th, at 12:00 pm, at Dakan Funeral Chapel - CV Peckham Community Center.
