Santiago "Jimmy" Reyna

Santiago “Jimmy” Reyna, 56, of Caldwell passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at a local hospital of natural causes. He was born on June 22, 1961 in Caldwell, Idaho to Jose Trinidad Reyna and Rafaela Garcia Reyna. He attended Wilder and Caldwell Schools, and obtained his first Automotive Service Technician Certification on his own at the age of 17. Jimmy worked for numerous employers and most recently at Sorrento-Lactalis in Nampa.
Jimmy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, brother and friend. He was a person who loved to live and lived to love. He played hard and worked even harder. His favorite pastime was being an auto mechanic and troubleshooting any challenge. The harder the challenge, the more enthused to fix it. He could help anyone fix a vehicle, even over the phone. He also enjoyed helping others in every feasible way, from fixing a light fixture, mowing lawns, moving, and picking up auto parts where ever the best deal could be found. He influenced many lives, whether you knew him for many years or just briefly. No one was ever a stranger to him.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Lydia Chaves Reyna; his children, Robert Reyna, Linda Reyna, Santiago Reyna Jr (Angie), Veronica Medina, Jessica Medina, Isabel Medina, Cassandra Medina, and Israel Mercado Jr.; siblings, Lupe (Ida) Reyna, Faustina (Espiridion) Cuevas, Estela Coulson, Jose Reyna Jr., Carmela (Mike) Ramirez, and Jesse (Elida) Reyna; parent-in-laws, Enrique and Maria Chaves; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother and one daughter.
