Ruth Allene (Allison) Robertson passed away on Thursday, 23 March 2023 at Haven House in Fossil, Oregon, where she had lived the past three years near her daughter. On Thursday night, the skies were alight with a violet aurora, and as her granddaughter, Jacelyn, said, “She danced tonight.” Mom had been wheelchair bound, and lavenders were her favorite colors.
Born 18 July 1927 to Golda (Brown) and Lloyd E. Allison of Caldwell, Idaho. Mom was a twin sister to Brother Jack and third of, what would be, eleven siblings.
On 03 August 1946, at her family home in Centerpoint, Idaho, she married Robert (Bob) Thomas Robertson. They spent twenty-six years in the military, raised four children, and were married seventy years.
Mom was very handy with a needle, embroidering designs for clothing, pictures, furniture coverings, and always making home special. For many years, she crafted ceramics. Many family members have been gifted one of her nativity sets. Mom had a green thumb, raising beautiful indoor plants, and she loved working a garden and raising flowers out of doors. Always, you could find fresh spring, summer, and fall arrangements in her home.
Mom was a past member of the Idaho Pocahontas Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the former UT Club of Caldwell, Idaho, and an active member in the Centerpoint Community Club for many years.
She was an active member of her fellowship groups and knew every verse to almost any hymn you could name. She was known to say she could not carry a tune in a bucket; but she joyfully sang to Jesus.
Mom leaves behind a daughter, Hester Shirlene, a son Larre’, a sister, Loree (Allison) Swartz, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and daughters, Golda Jane and Sandra.
