Ronald P. Rainey
Ron Rainey passed away on August 25, 2018 at the age of 80. Ron was born August 22, 1938 in Nampa, Idaho and was a 1956 graduate of Boise High School. He continued his education, earning an undergraduate degree from Idaho State and a degree in law from the University of Idaho.
In 1965, Ron began practicing law in Caldwell, Idaho and continued to practice for the next 52 years. The law was his passion. He believed strongly in the judicial system and was highly respected as a tough litigator, but also for his willingness to serve those in his community who could not always afford representation.
Ron was an avid hunter, who raised and trained hunting dogs including a Field Trial National Champion German Shorthair named Spot. When not at the courthouse or out hunting, Ron was actively involved in church leadership. He worked on numerous church committees and served as the President of two local congregations, Grace Lutheran in Caldwell and Mount Calvary Lutheran in Homedale.
Ron is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emily Rainey, son Scott Rainey and his wife Kathy Ross-Rainey, daughter Stephanie Bailey and her husband Stephen Bailey, and his two cherished granddaughters, Rainey Ann Bailey and Emily Rose Bailey, a brother Roger Rainey and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 1st at Grace Lutheran Church, 2700 S Kimball Ave, Caldwell, ID 83605, with Pastor Jason Taylor officiating.
