Tribute

Ron Javaux was born August 4, 1940 to Merle and Freda (Monfort) Javaux in Caldwell, ID. He joined his older siblings Jane and Richard while Michael and John came along later. He attended Notus School all 12 years, graduating in May of 1958. Ron served in the Army (Germany) for two years. He married Carolyn Smith on Oct. 27, 1962 and they would have celebrated 59 years of marriage this month. They lived in Boise, ID where Ron was employed at Idaho Candy Company. They were blessed with three children: Greg, Carmen and Callie. In the fall of 1967 they moved to the Notus area where Ron farmed for a couple years with his dad. J.A. Marchbanks hired Ron to work on his farm in March 1970. He worked for J.A. for about 50 years. Ron was always thankful for the opportunity to work for and with J.A. and David Marchbanks. He also worked part-time with Greg Payne for 9 years. J.A. was the one who encouraged Ron to attend church at First Baptist of Notus with Carolyn and the kids. After watching J.A.’s Christian testimony and attending church for several years the Spirit led Ron to trust Jesus Christ to be his Savior. Pastor Bob Obenchain was Ron’s first pastor under whom he began his spiritual walk. In 1975 Ron and family began attending Montana Ave Baptist Church in Caldwell. Ron grew spiritually under the ministry of Pastor Jack Shiflett in those years. Over the last couple years Ron and Carolyn attended First Baptist of Middleton and greatly enjoyed the ministry of Pastor Tim Hazelbaker.
Beginning in 1999 thru 2014 Ron and Carolyn had the privilege of promoting Southern Gospel Music groups and bringing them into the Treasure Valley for concerts. “We made some very good friends with these groups and those who supported us in this venture.”
Ron enjoyed many trips to visit his family in the Midwest and East Coast. Ron and Carolyn took an “inside passage cruise” to Alaska in 2008, visited Washington, D.C. in 2014 and in 2019 their daughter Carmen took them on a tour of all the Northeast states and into Canada.
Ron’s testimony was that “God has met our needs thru the years and given us great children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I want to thank all those who have supported my family thru this time of adjustment and knowing that we who trust in Jesus will be together again never more to part.” Some of Ron’s favorite scripture verses were: Genesis 1:1,26,27; John 1:12-13; Acts 16:30-31; Ephesians 2:8-9 (Ron wrote about these verses: “. . . works do not entitle us to eternal life.”); 2 Peter 3:8-9 (Ron wrote about these verses: “God has sovereignty over time. His patience and grace wait for your repentance and trust.”); John 14:1-7 (Ron wrote about these verses: “You believe God is and what has been said about him. Now believe the report and record that Jesus, God’s only son, is the one sent to restore a broken relationship with God.”).
Ron went home to be with His Lord on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 6:00am from his home in Middleton, ID.
Ron is survived by his wife Carolyn, son Greg Javaux (Stephanie) of Quincy, IL, Carmen Javaux of Caldwell, ID, Callie Spall (Ray) of Notus, ID, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, one brother, Richard Javaux (Eileen) of Notus, ID, sisters-in-law, Gayla Javaux of Middleton, ID, Susan Javaux of Ankeny, IA, several nephews and nieces.
