Roger Eugene Sevy, Jr., lovingly known as Butch, passed away in his home with his family by his side Wednesday, August 15, 2018
Butch was born February 17, 1962 in Marsing, Idaho, the oldest child of Roger and Jody Sevy. Butch grew up surrounded by siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents on the family dairy. Butch enjoyed his childhood playing farmer, water fights, harassing his sisters and learning to work on farm. He could feed calves by the age of 5 and then make it to the bus still wearing his little rubber boots.
Butch spent his life working hard but always loved planting corn, bailing hay, keeping count of the cows, even herding them in his sleep, working side by side with his family, taking fun business trips, and enjoying great times with best friends.
Butch was a lifelong member of the Followers of Christ Church. He was baptized June 14, 1981. He told the story of hiding behind a tree not wanting to go give his hand in that day because his sister had, but he said the next thing he knew his feet were in the water.
Butch married his loving wife, Shannon on July 21, 1984. They spent their life together in Marsing raising their family, hunting & camping, and bailing hay at night with Shannon riding along making great memories.
Butch was always a jokester, the first person to remember the date for people’s birthday, and a Dallas Cowboys fan forever. He loved watching westerns and football, playing with his grandkids, and spending time with his family.
Butch is survived by his wife Shannon Sevy; sons, Buddy, Clayton, and Cody Sevy; daughter, Veronica (D.J) Vlahos; granddaughter, Hallie Sevy and grandson, Ben Vlahos; sisters, Pam (Jimmy) Hooven, Chris (Marshall) Morris, and Sandi (Tom) Sexton; brother, Bryon (Amber) Sevy; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Jody Sevy; his father and mother-in-law, Roger and JoAnne Allen; son, Brock; daughters, Natalie and Jody; brother, Brad Sevy; and sisters, Kimberly Dugan and Amanda Combs.
Butch was a loving husband, Dad, Papa, brother, and friend who will be missed forever.
