Robert J. “Bob” Reed, Sr, 77 of Caldwell, passed away peacefully from this life on April 17, 2017 surrounded by his family. He is now with our Lord and Savior for evermore.
Bob was born December 28, 1939 to Glen Edmond and Virginia Marie Stamps Reed in Victorville, California. He graduated from Pacific High School in 1958. In 1959, Bob married Henrietta Fouty. Together they had six children and served the Lord faithfully. She passed away in May of 1983.
Bob surrendered to the ministry in 1966 and was ordained in June of 1971. In California, he served as Pastor at Home Gardens, Visalia and Hesperia, and also in Omak, Washington.
Bob married Mary Ann Hollaway in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He continued his ministry with the Missionary Baptist Churches. He served a second term at Omak before returning to Idaho to serve at Idaho Falls and Mountain Home then settled in Meridian where he pastored for 10 years.
Bob loved to preach “The Gospel” and loved his Lord and Savior. He loved to sing and his sense of humor was endless. His secondary jobs included upholstery, maintenance and apartment manager for Tomlinson & Associates, Inc.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Reed; sons, Robert J. (Charlene) Reed, Jr., Henry M.G. (Stephanie) Reed, John B. (Brandy) Reed, and Edward A. Reed; daughters, Marjorie A. Reed, Diane M. Reed, and Barbara J. Reed; step-sons (whom he loved as his own and they loved him), Michael G. Hollaway, Robert A. (Marti) Hollaway, and Randal S. (Kelly) Hollaway; foster daughter, Laverna R. Wichman; sisters, Rose Mary Brudnak and Francis Reed; brothers, Alvin Dale Reed and Donald Reed; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Virginia Reed; and brothers, James L. Reed, Larry A. Reed and Thomas F. Reed.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Baker and the staff of Complete Hospice Care - Troy, Bretta, Christie, Jo Lynn, Susanne and Tammy.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22nd at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Condolences may be shared at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
