Richard Marion Michel, Jr. was born July 3, 1928, in Caldwell, Idaho. He was the son of Richard Marion Michel, Sr. and Myrtle (Watkins) Michel.
Richard grew up in Middleton with his brother, Claude and sister, Maxine. Richard married Ellen Ann Simpson and they had a son, Tom and a daughter, Carla. Ellen passed away in 1970.
On October 5, 1975, Richard married Helen Turley and his family grew with her three sons, Doug, Arthur and Edward. Richard worked in the grocery business from a young age until his retirement. Richard had a love for music and was an accomplished pianist. He loved playing worship songs in every church he attended.
Richard is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter-in-law, Tracy Michel and sons, Mathew and Brandon; daughter, Carla (Joe) Evans and daughter, Adia (Matt) Ferrell; stepsons, Doug Turley and daughter, Crystal Turley, Arthur (Cheryl) Turley and their daughters, Renee, Hazel and Abbey, and Ed (Karen) Turley and children, Michael (Karri) and Tiffany (David) Saenz and their children, Ezekiel, Jonathon and Naomi Joy; brother, Claude (Velma) Michel; and sister, Maxine (Ken) Grafham.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen; his son, Tom; and grandson, Jonathon.
Richard took his last breathe on earth on July 1, 2017 and his first breathe in heaven that same moment. Richard’s hope is in his Savior, Jesus Christ who prepared a place in heaven for him and all who put their faith in Jesus as their Savior. In John 14 (NLT), Jesus said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's house...I am going to prepare a place for you. I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
