Tribute

Reyna Gonzalez age 73 passed away on Sunday, June 21st,  2020 with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.  
Reyna was born in Linares Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Encarnacion & Guadalupe Nunez.  She and her family migrated to the United States when she was just 8 years old.  For many years they migrated to Idaho from Pharr, Texas.  In 1963 she moved to Caldwell, Idaho and worked in fieldwork, factory, and for the Caldwell School District.  She always dreamed of getting an education.  She received her citizenship in 1984 and received her GED in 1985.  She went on to College and graduated from Boise State University with a bachelor of arts degree, Social Work in 1992 at the age of 45.   She practiced Social Work for over 10 years and impacted many lives in the community.  
In 2005 she married Ricardo M. Gonzalez and they enjoyed many years together traveling, working in their flower garden, and having fun.  
Reyna wanted her family and friends to know this.  “I lived my life peacefully and I leave this world peacefully.  I enjoyed raising my children and created beauty along the way by sewing my children’s school clothes, attending school conferences, ballet recitals, making jewelry, crocheting, writing poetry, scrapbooking, and traveling with my husband during our later years”.
Reyna is preceded in death by her parents Encarnacion & Guadalupe Nunez, her sister Guadalupe Nunez, her son David Humberto Fernandez, her grandchildren Tre & David Fernandez, and her nephew Jaime Sierra.
She is survived by her husband Ricardo M Gonzalez; her daughters Silvia Morrow (Greg), Leti Hebert (Dave), Rebeca Kinney (Justin); her grandchildren Michele Pannell, Monica Mercado, Ricky Rojas, Anthony Fernandez, Alex Mercado, Shawnte Fernandez, Tyler Garcia Kinney, Johnni Fernandez, Nathan Hebert, Kiersten Kinney, & Cash Kinney; sisters Ana Garcia, Felipa Zamora, Minerva Lopez, Angelica Pedraza, Criselda Leos; brother Noe Nunez, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Viewing hours will be between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2020 with a rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Dakan Funeral Chapel at 10:30 a.m Monday, June 29, 2020. Graveside services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Due to Covid restrictions,  please refrain from shaking hands and hugging family members.  Masks are encouraged but not required.  The service will be livestreamed.  Please contact Dakan Funeral Chapel for more information.
