Pedro "Pete" Chavez

Pedro Chavez, 64, of Nampa, died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 16th at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Viewing hours will be between 6 and 8 p.m. Friday evening at Dakan Chapel.
Pete was born June 6, 1953 in Pharr, Texas to Teodoro M. and Busilia M. Chavez. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1970 at the age of 17 and proudly served his country for 17 years.
During his time in the service, Pete married Rosa Gonzales of Nampa. They became an instant family with her two children, Benito and Blanca, whom he loved as his own. Their family became complete when their daughter, Marcelina was born.
Pete accomplished many things in his life. His greatest accomplishments were being a loving brother, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Maria Chavez.
Pete is survived by his children, Marcelina (Ruben) Gutierrez, Benito (Karen) Gonzales and Blanca (Greg) Gonzalez; his siblings, Juana, Guadalupe, Jaime, Teodoro, Juan, Jose, Robert, Raul and Julia; and his cherished grandchildren.
He will be missed by all.
