Patricia L. "Pat" (Carpenter) Galvin our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at home on January 2, 2022 with her three girls by her side.
Mom was born November 26, 1934 to Harry and Edna Carpenter in Wilder, ID. The Carpenter family moved to Caldwell where mom attended high school and graduated in 1952. During high school mom met Marty Galvin and they were married on August 23, 1953.
After Marty's service in the Navy they returned home to the family farm in Middleton. They started their family having three daughters, Cindee, Gloree and Sandee. Mom worked hard and long hours for many years. At ages 3, 4, and 5 we started helping mom irrigate and feed baby calves. We are thankful for the strong work ethic mom and dad instilled in us girls. Mom really loved all her dogs and cats including many drop offs.
Mom was a Jobs Daughter and Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Canyon County Republicans, Middleton Community Club, Idaho Cowbelles, Idaho Cattleman's Association, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Caldwell Elks. Mom served on the Canyon County Planning and Zoning Committee and later was elected as Canyon County Commissioner from 1995-2003. Mom was truly dedicated to Canyon County's agriculture, committed to individual property rights and had a common sense approach to conservative government.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Cindee (Randy) Powell, Gloree (Dave Brown) Galvin and Sandee (Robert) Alexander. Grandchildren Ambrozzia, Allison, Sam, Rob, Jack and Katie. Great grandchildren Makia, Zoe and Wilmot. Brothers Melvin and Bill Carpenter and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marty, her parents and sister Beverly Ledbetter.
In lieu of flowers please consider making donations to the Caldwell Elks Lodge #1448.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, ID. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
