Muriel was born December 11, 1928 to Dora (Goracke) and Barton Lane Anderson in Phillipsburg, Kansas. She passed peacefully to her Heavenly Father on April 2, 2018 at her daughter's home in Parma.
Muriel’s family came to Idaho about 1948. On March 3, 1950 Muriel married Ivan George Martin. Eight children were born to this marriage. She spent her life teaching Sunday School and taking care of others. In 2000, at the age of 71, Muriel obtained her CNA certificate.
Muriel is survived by her brother, Mark Anderson of British Columbia, Canada; her 6 children, Anne (Butch) Mazza of Caldwell, Joseph (Jody) Martin of Wilder, Laura (Stan) Schwanz of Parma, Dixie (Rob) Nelson of Parma, James Martin of Parma, and Renita (Mike) Herbig of Montana; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-granddaughter, Lilly Anne Rose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jesse (12/25/44); twin babies, Ruth Marie & Loren Lee (8/7/51); husband, Ivan (11/7/88); and sister, Mary (2/20/16).
The family would like to thank Muriel’s daughter Dixie, for the great loving care she gave; and the assistance of Heart ‘n Home Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 13th at Parma Church of the Nazarene, Parma. Viewing hours will be at the church in Parma on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
