May 5th, 1960 – January 3rd, 2021
It is with deep sadness, Robert Ure and his family announce the peaceful passing of his wife Monica A. Ure, age 60, on Sunday, January 3rd, 2021, in the comfort of her own home in Caldwell after a long, fifteen year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Monica is survived by her adoring husband Robert Ure; her children, Ira Robert Ure III, Therese Alberta Ure Stix, Sonja Louise Jung, Patrick Jacob Ure, Zechariah Stephen Ure (Deceased), and Rachel Elizabeth Ure; her grandchildren, Alli, Ira, Mackenzie, Haley, Ella, and Cameron.
Monica was born on May 5th, 1960 in Nyssa to Gilbert and Margaret Gallegos. She graduated from Nyssa High School in 1978 and worked various jobs including her work at Western Labs where she tended to the greenhouse. She then married her husband Robert Ure on March 9th, 1988 at the Fern Grotto in Kauai. She became a wonderful full-time homemaker raising her children and stepchildren. Monica had many friends, and loved to talk about her best friend, Jesus Christ.
She was an avid outdoorswoman and loved to fish and explore all the mountains and deserts to always bring home beautiful rocks and fossils. She travelled annually, to Mesilla, NM to visit cousins and relatives and traveled up and down the entire west coast, always collecting shells and trinkets for memories of her adventures. Monica loved her dogs and mini-horses and received much joy and satisfaction working in her greenhouse; and spent many of her days landscaping her yard into hers and Bob’s “little piece of Heaven”. She will be very missed by all.
Her family will be having a graveside service on Monday, January 11th, 2021 at Nyssa Hilltop Cemetery at 11am. Instead of donating flowers, it would be much appreciated if you could donate to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or the American Cancer Society in her name.
