It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Hunter, due to a heart attack on April 30, 2023, he was at home at the time of his passing. He lived a full and adventurous life. His passing is deeply felt by his family and friends, who will remember him for his love for his family and fun sense of humor.
Michael was born June 29, 1970, to John Hunter and Kitti Potter in Norwich, Connecticut. He was the oldest of two children. He met the mother of his daughters in Virginia the summer 1988 and they were married September of 1989. Michael joined the Navy shortly after. Their first daughter, Kayla was born July 06, 1989 in Richmond, Virginia. After he returned from boot camp in San Diego he moved his family to Florida. Then they move back to Virginia. A few years later they moved out west to Carson City Nevada were they had their second daughter, Dawne on September 20, 1993. He moved his family back to Virginia where they separated. Him and his daughters moved to Ephrata, Washington, Where he divorced his daughter’s mother. Years later he went on Plentyoffish.com and found the love of his life, Marcy. He married her on February 11, 2006 in Ephrata, Washington. In July of 2018 they moved to Caldwell, Idaho.
Throughout his life, He had a tremendous love of sports. He officiated for school sports games. He would watch 4 sports games on TV at the same time. He also had a passion for auto racing from announcing, pit-boss, crew chief, series owner, media specialist, and just an enthusiastic fan.
He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and grandfather.
His memory will be forever cherished by his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends who take solace in the knowledge that his life was full and well-lived. Though he will be dearly missed, his legacy of kindness, strength, and love will continue to live on.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Kitti. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Marcy Hunter of Caldwell, daughter Kayla (Adam), and their three children Lacey, Adam Jr., and Brantley, daughter Dawne (Brian) and their twins Kat and Nick, stepsons Bubby, Mathew, and Sam and Bubby’s sons RJ and Harley.
He was cremated at Dakan Funeral Home, 504 S Kimball in Caldwell, Idaho. Ashes will be place in Columbarium wall at Veterans Cemetery, Boise.
