Michael Dean Holmes

November 3, 1956 ~ October 22, 2017 (age 60) 60 Years Old
Michael Dean Holmes born Nov. 3, 1956 went to sleep for the final time Oct. 22, 2017 leaving behind his wife of 41 years Janie, their six children Missi, Stella, Brandy, Michael Jr., Donald, and Adriana as well as grandchildren Shamia, Keagan, Autumn, Cerenity, Sophia, Alexis, Matthew, and Alyssa. Michael was a man who loved fiercely and deeply, played with exuberance, and worked hard. He enjoyed racing his 76 Chevy Monza many years, his annual hunting trips, as well as family trips to ride his ATVs.

The world knew you as Mike or Michael, but to me you are dad, the first man I loved, my hero, my protector, the man that could fix anything and if you couldn't throw it out cause it wasn't worth fixing. You were my anchor, the one who kept me from losing myself, holding me together no matter the storm. Dad, you're the man I knew if I was ever in need no matter time, day, or where I was you'd come for me. You are the man who taught me everything a man should be and the one I hope my son becomes. Dad, wherever you are always know you're in my heart and I love you more than i ever had a chance to say. Almost 41 years wasn't nearly enough time. I still have so much you're supposed to be here for and help me with. Things for you to do with Keagan like teaching him about guns and hunting, teaching "your driver in training" how to drive your car and holding my hand the first time, probably every time, he takes it down the track. How can I watch my baby in your car without you besides me? A few months ago I dreamed you had passed. I woke up crying, my heart aching so unbearably sad that it took a while to realize it was a dream, now I wait to wake up. Knowing I'll never hear George! When I walk in or see you in your chair, you will never again kiss my hand as you did all my life, or scold me and a million other things is unfathomable. The night you left us I wanted so badly to sit beside you, hold your hand, lay my head on your chest and hug you, but if I had I wasn't sure I could let go and mom needed me to be strong. I hope you know I'm doing everything I can to help her through. It's not you will be missed, you are missed with every beat of my heart, every breath I breathe I miss you from now until forever, with love always "George."

Dad, I love you more than words could ever say. You was and always will be my best friend and knight in shining armor. You loved me unconditionally and loved me through all my flaws and mess up. Thank you for being everything a girl could want or ask for in a daddy. Thank you for believing in me when the rest of the world gave up on me. You are the best man and dad in the whole world. You taught me to love unconditionally and completely. You will always be my rock. Thank you for everything you sacrificed for me growing up. I couldn't of asked for a better dad. I love you and miss you every single day. -Stella

A hole in our hearts just to prove God only takes the best, a hard working man now lays in the arms of an angel and only God knows why he wanted our hero to rest. Dad, you always will be my biggest hero in this journey, my first and most important teacher that never stopped teaching me the important values in life. Always there for me long after you didn't have to be. You had a great sense of humor, quick to get the first poke in, and a laugh that was contagious. Through my journey of life you've taught me the importance honesty, integrity, self respect, and to value those we love. Always making sure I was pointed in the right direction so I was on the right path because you loved me even when I didn't love myself, never giving up on me, and pushing me to be better. Rest in paradise Daddy, until we meet again I will always hold you in my heart, cherish our memories, and never stop talking about you because as long as you remain in the hearts of those that love you, you will always walk beside me. Save me a seat next to you at the tables of Heaven. Love your runt but behind.

The greatest man I ever knew, I had the pleasure of calling him not only dad, but I also called him my best friend. Over the years he taught me many wonderful things. How to work on cars, fish, and even when to say enough and just have fun. His passions that he shared with many and with great pride was his love to go fast whether it was on two wheels or doing his favorite thing, racing. With his family he took great pride, he taught all of us kids even though life got hard and we felt like giving up, we were always welcome back home and with a smile, he would help each one back up and always would ask if we learn the lesson that was in front of us. I love you dad, you will be greatly missed. Rest in peace. Gone but never forgotten. -Michael

Mike to most people who knew him, to me he was dad. He was a stubborn man set in his ways and opinions, which usually turned out to be right. He was the best friend you could ever ask for, always only a phone call away, no matter what. He taught me many things throughout his life, hunting, fishing, fixing cars, a love of going fast. How to be a good man and father are the most important two. He was my dad, my role model, and my best friend, the greatest man I've ever known. I only hope I can live up to the example he set for all who knew him. I love you Dad, you will forever be in our hearts and minds. -Don
