Mary M. Campbell, 97, passed away on January 16, 2021 at home from natural causes. Mary was born on September 9, 1923 in Cassville, Missouri. She weighed 2 lbs. 8 oz. and had the german measles. Later moved with her parents, Samuel and Effie Applegate and siblings to Parma, Idaho for a few years and settled in Nampa, Idaho.
Mary attended Nampa High until her marriage in 1941 to James F. Phillips. They had two children Judith Phillips and Paulette Rae Phillips. In 1947, Mary Martha married Alvie Ernest Johnson, they had three children, Jonnie Kay Johnson, Cathy Lynn Johnson and Richard E. Johnson. In May 1966, Mary Martha married her true love, Heber Grant Campbell. With their union they blended their family together adding Dennis Grant Campbell, Judy Dell Campbell and Terry Lee Campbell.
Mary was preceded in death by three husbands, daughter in law Liliana Johnson, a grandson David Radulescu, Great grand son Ethan Davis, Great grandson Loyd D. Campbell III, nine siblings (Louis, Judith, Elma, Cyrus, Merle, Alice, Billy, Bobby, Ray), parents Effie Meadows Applegate and Samuel Applegate.
Mary was a member of the Baptist Church in Notus. Beginning in 1986, she volunteered at West Valley Medical Auxiliary and was a lifetime member. In 1960 she was employed at Laundrymat, 1965, Carnation Potato Factory, 1968 started traveling with Heb to many of his job sites and settled in Lewiston, Idaho. She enjoyed weekends at the Notus farmhouse, crafts, lunches with friends and family, traveling to Alaska and Arizona. She attended many sports events to watch her great grand children play.
She is survived by her children, Judith Hubler, Paulette Miller-Follett, Jonnie Kay Weymouth (Gary), Cathy Lynn Klinginsmith (Neal), Richard E. Johnson, Judy Dell Campbell Scoles (Roger), Dennis Grant Campbell (Joy), Terry Lee Campbell; 23 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren.
She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Mary's services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the Notus Baptist Church, 441 Notus Rd., Notus, Idaho. A graveside service at Parma Cemetery will follow and a luncheon at the Notus Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Jocele Skinner, and Heart and Home hospice.
