Tribute

Mary Jo Brady, 88 of Wilder, passed away surrounded by the love of family on Thursday, June 21, 2018. Per Mary Jo’s request, no services will be held and a private inurnment will take place at a later date. Condolences may be shared at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
Mary Jo was born September 6, 1929 in Murray, Kentucky, to Oscar and Mary Jane Skaggs. She attended schools in Kentucky before moving to Shoshone, Idaho, as a school teacher. Shortly after, she met a handsome young farmer named Ed Brady. A blind date would be the beginning of a lifelong love story, with the couple being married on November 22, 1952. This union would give Ed and Mary Jo three children; Diane, Scott, and youngest Chris.
Mary Jo was an active homemaker, wife, and mother. As a lifelong member of the Wilder United Methodist Church, she led the women’s groups and helped for several years with the Jobs Daughters program and Wilder Community Auction. As her children were growing, Mary Jo was also active in the 4-H organizations and school sports activities. Along with Ed, Mary Jo loved entertaining friends with weekly card parties.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Ed, her parents, and brother. She is survived by her children, Diane (Carl) Paulsen, Scott (Becky) Brady, and Chris (Sara) Brady, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend a heart-felt thank you to the loving staff of Lenity Assisted Living and the hospice team from Signature Care who loved our mother and provided her great care.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Wilder United Methodist Church, PO Box 223, Wilder, ID 83676; or a charity of your choice.
