Tribute

Mom was 90 years young when she passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2022 at her home, Grace of Caldwell, with her husband by her side. She was sitting in her chair putting on her last sock when God said: Marian it's time... come on home. Graveside services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Monday March 28th at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Brethren in Nampa (corner of Orchard and Midland Blvd.) Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. The most important quality of mom was her faith and personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She wanted that above all for her 3 boys and their future families. Great job mom...you did that too! Every meal with mom I remember she was always the last to finish because she was constantly up and down making sure everyone's needs were met. She had a servant's heart and a real gift for hospitality. If she wasn't at home, she was down at the church doing something else for the church family. Mom was born and grew up in Anaheim, California on May 11th, 1931 to Ernest and Lois Glick and was a happy child and active teenager as she grew up. Mom married our dad Albert L. Brown on June 17th, 1951 and we enjoyed those years growing up in LaHabra, California. Later, they moved to Hood River, Oregon where they owned and ran their fruit orchard and a successful bed and breakfast at the same time. Mom changed irrigation pipes, drove the Jeep and managed the books. She was also a very accomplished artist in her medium of oil painting. Her paintings will be cherished by family and friends for decades to come. Mom's and Dad's last move was to Nampa, Idaho. Al passed away in 2005 and mom was alone until God put another great gentle man into her life from inside her church a few years later.
Mom married Floyd C. Mitchell of Nampa and they enjoyed many adventures together from riding 4X4's in the mountains to becoming Snow Birds in Arizona. Mom will be missed by family members on both the Mitchell and Brown sides as well as other friendships she developed in her lifetime. Mom is survived by her husband Floyd Mitchell, her two sons Jim Brown (Cathy) of HoodRiver, OR. and Clay Brown (Maxene) of Greenleaf, ID. Floyd's son Steve Mitchell (Linda) Caldwell, ID. and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Alice, her middle son Ken, her first husband Al, and Floyd's daughter Pam. Flowers can be sent to Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, or memorial donations sent to the Church of the Brethren, 11030 Orchard Ave., Nampa, ID. 83651
