Lawrence Grey Kelly, 85, entered into rest on December 2, 2019 in Caldwell, Idaho. He was born on May 31, 1934 in Henderson, North Carolina to Nell and Woodrow Kelly. He served our country honorably in the Navy, where he was a salvage expert as a diver. Though an extremely dangerous assignment, he performed his deep sea duties with courage and honor.
Lawrence married his sweetheart, June Weber and they became the parents of three sons. He moved his family to Caldwell in 1971 and enjoyed being active in his community. He was instrumental in the renovation process of the old Carnegie Library into a Veteran's Hall, helping to make it the beautiful facility it is today. Lawrence was a diligent and hard worker, providing for his family as a truck driver for most of his life.
Lawrence is survived by three sons; Michael Kelly, Caldwell; Stephen Kelly, St. Cloud, Florida; Danny Kelly, Mesa, Arizona; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Kelly; parents Nell Garner and Woodrow Kelly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2019 at Dakan Funeral Chapel.
