Larry David Roberts

Larry David Roberts was born the seventh of eight children at Mercy Hospital in Nampa, Idaho on December 5th 1953. He passed in Caldwell Idaho on December 24th 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orban Roberts and Madeline DeArmond, his sister Shirley Shaw and his first great grandchild Annavey Cox. He is survived by his six siblings, his children Jennifer Villasana, her Husband Michael Ricketts of Oak Harbor Washington, Jaime Cox, her Husband Steve Taylor of Nampa, Idaho, Jeremy Roberts and his wife Joey Roberts of Oak Harbor Washington. He is also survived by his grandchildren Zachery Cox of Nampa, Idaho, Caleb Cox of Kuna, Idaho, Josephine Villasana, of Springfield, Tennessee, Dylan Roberts of Oak Harbor, Washington, Jackson Villasana of Oak Harbor Washington, Aly Roberts of Oak Harbor Washington as well as his Great Grandchild Ezekiel Cox of Nampa, Idaho.

Larry married Donna Stroud on February 1, 1974 Meridian Idaho. Shortly afterward he joined the United States Navy in April 1974. He graduated basic training in Orlando Florida and trained as an Aviation Structural Mechanic (Structures) in Millington Tennessee. His shore assignments were working on the F-14 Tomcat at Miramar California, Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department in Agana, Guam where he specialized in Aircraft Painting, Recruiting Duty in Boise Idaho, and VFA-125 DET Fallon Nevada. His Operational Assignments included VF-14 in Oceana Virginia where he deployed aboard the USS JOHN F KENNEDY supporting operations in Libya and the Mediterranean Ocean, VAQ-132 deploying aboard the USS SARATOGA supporting operation Desert Storm. He retired in 1994 concluding 20 years of Honorable Service.

Upon returning to civilian life he lived in Meridian, Cascade and Caldwell, Idaho. He worked several jobs around the Treasure Valley and enjoyed the company of his loving children and grandchildren. Larry will be remembered for his dedication to his country and his family and the impact he left on everyone he knew. He was loved by all and loved those people who were the most important to him. There will be a public celebration of life at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell Idaho. In lieu of flowers, Larry's children ask that donations be made in his name to Veterans Service or the ASPCA.

Funeral services are going to be held at Dakan Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am on Friday January 3, 2020.
