Tribute

Larry Lee Dumas passed away on Sunday September 11, 2022. He was born on September 25, 1969 in Pocatello Idaho to Myra Fay Dumas and Dell Dumas.

On December 19, 1987 He and Teresa Leeanne Mathews were married. They had three children; Lacie J. Garza, Daniel Jacob Dumas, and Kendra Mckay Maples.

His favorite pastimes were horseback riding, camping, hunting, and trail riding (on ATVs.) He never did any of the above without involving family, if he couldn’t bring the family along he wasn’t going.

He was an incredibly hard worker who worked long hours to provide for his family. He did his best to give them the life he always wanted as a child. He was the type of guy who turned friends into family and whether or not you’d spoken to him in years, he still would consider you family once you’d made it to that level. If someone was in a tight spot and needed help he would be there no questions asked to do what he could to help them out. He put others needs before his own and was always there to listen and give advice when needed.

In his later years he came to strengthen his relationship with God. He believed in and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior.

He loves his grandkids to no end, his love for them will never stop. They seemed to be what brought him the most joy in life, he always had a huge smile anytime the grandkids were around. He was either holding a baby, starting up a four wheeler for one of the older kids or loading everyone up to go camping.  His youngest grandkids always ran to him smiling as they held out their arms yelling “Papa!”  His Legacy will forever be to put family first, say I love you often (he never ended a visit with family without saying the words “I love you”) and to put the needs of others before your own.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Teresa Dumas; his children Lacie (Lionel, Kaydence, LG, Jayden, & Weston) Garza, Jacob (Amanda, Emma, Sawyer, & William) Dumas, & Kendra (Devon, Adaline, & Amelia) Maples; his mother Myra Dumas; his siblings David Dumas, Richard Dumas, Danielle Allen, Byran Dumas, DJ Dumas, Sundee Bickler, & Jessica Waterhouse as well as many more aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & loved ones. Larry was preceded in death by his father Dell Dumas; his grandma May Wren Carter; his mother-in-law Margaret Mathews as well as other loved ones.
