April 2, 1961 ~ April 16, 2018 (age 57) 57 Years Old

Tribute

In joyful sorrow the family of Kerry Robert Groves announces his glorification to our Holy Father after a swift and determined battle with cancer on the morning of April 16th, 2018. Kerry peacefully passed surrounded by loved ones at the age of 57. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24th at Canyon Hill Church of the Nazarene, Caldwell under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.

Kerry was born in Meridian, Idaho on April 2, 1961 to Melba M. McKee and Jess C. Groves. Determined and high-spirited from an early age, Kerry developed a reputation for being a wild one and lived a life full of experiences. With only a 9th grade education, Kerry began his journey to adulthood early and was truly a self-taught, hard-working man. Kerry began a passionate sales career in industrial distribution with Available Hardware Supply in Boise, Idaho. Kerry was described as “high-spirited”, “passionate”, and “very effective” among those who knew him well.

In spring of 1985, Kerry married Shelly Dibben at Canyon Hill Church of the Nazarene. This marriage resulted in three children of whom he was extraordinarily proud. Over time, Kerry’s entrepreneurial spirit took hold and in 1997 he established the professional legacy of his life, a company called Advanced Hardware Supply in a small garage in Boise. With support from Shelly and his father Jess, Kerry poured countless hours into this endeavor to produce a company that is now an industry leader in the western United States. When not away at work, Kerry enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing and camping in the mountains, spending time with his family, and going to his children’s sporting events. Kerry also particularly enjoyed watching football. Nothing made Kerry more proud than to share with others that his sons and daughter worked alongside him in the family business he created. Kerry was truly the most generous man and he was a firm believer in second chances.

Kerry will forever be remembered and greatly missed by his wife Shelly, mother Melba, brother Craig, sister Laurie, sons and daughter Matt, Geoff, and Jennifer, their spouses Angela and Taylor Groves, Kevin Harding, and an insurmountable list of friends and family too extensive to name individually.

Dad, thank you for the great blessings you brought to all of our lives, we will forever be grateful.
