Katherine “Katie Jo” Marchbanks, 40, of Caldwell, died January 19, 2020. Katie was born in Caldwell, grew up in Notus, and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1997. She attended the University of Idaho and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
Katie was proud of being a country girl who grew up on a farm. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her two boys, Jaden and Tristen. She was a fiesty and free spirit with a fiery personality who wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She felt at home in nature and greatly enjoyed sunsets, fishing at the river, and bonfires.
Katie is survived by her two sons, her mother Linda Marchbanks (Roger Mackey), her brother Daniel Marchbanks (Tami Horn), and sisters Susan Michelle Mulheron (Jeremiah) and Kirsten Nicholes (Jacob Nye). She is preceded into death by her father, Mitchell Marchbanks, her uncle Rick Goiri, and her grandparents, Clyde and Peggy Marchbanks and George and Donna Goiri.
Katie was diagnosed with Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT), which is a rare genetic disorder of blood vessels. She was a strong advocate for HHT research and the search for a cure, not only for her but for her son who also has the condition. In her honor, contributions may be made to the HHT research foundation, Cure HHT, at curehht.org.
