While visiting relatives in California, Joyce and Nelson discovered a magical little place called Disneyland, where they would continue to travel every year. When Boise Towne Square opened in Boise in 1988, Joyce saw one of her wildest dreams come true when she got a job at Lane Bryant. Her passion for fashion helped her become an exemplary employee and she worked there until she retired. She spent the remainder of her life living with her daughter, Carrie, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She continued to direct those around her on how to make one of her many famous recipes and telling stories of her adventures with her friends and family.
