They moved to Southern Idaho in 1948 where they started their family, having three children, Joette, Kevin and Stacy.

In 1971, Joe and his family moved to Nampa where they lived until 1974. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas, for one year, then to Little Rock, Arkansas, for one year before returning to Nampa in 1976 where he spent the rest of his life.

Joe loved baseball, hunting, fishing, golfing and his horses, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
