Joseph Everett Hurley

Joseph E. (Joe) Hurley, 63, of Caldwell, Idaho, died unexpectedly in his home on December 22nd of natural causes.
He was born December 10, 1955 in Caldwell to Everett K. Hurley and Edna E. Thomas Hurley. He grew up in the Boise/Eagle area where he attended Pierce Park Elementary, Hillside Jr High and Capital High School. He graduated from Boise Jr College with a 2 year trade certificate in welding. He made a career in the steel industry working at Western Steel and at Rule Steel as a fabrication inspector until his retirement in 2017.
He married Diane Jewell in 1981, and her children became his children. Heather, the youngest, changed her name to Hurley, which made Joe very happy, and her 2 children Cheyenne and Daltin Hebner were HIS grandchildren whom he cared for deeply! Joe and Diane divorced in 2012 but remained friends to the end.
Joe loved the outdoors! He enjoyed fishing, but loved to hunt. He never really ventured far from home, but he did spend a lot of time in the mountains. Whether it was by himself, or with family and friends, if he wasn't hunting, he was talking about it. He even had a favorite rock pile... but only a special few know where that's at. His later in life pastime was his classic Harley Davidson which he enjoyed riding.
Joe is survived by his children, David Delisio and family of Germany, Denise Delisio of Boise, Heather Larsen of Middleton, granddaughter Cheyenne Hebner of Iowa, grandson Daltin Hebner of Middleton, a brother James Hurley of Caldwell, a sister Charlotte Smith of Nampa, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, his mother and father, a brother John Hurley, and a niece Angie Hurley.
