JoAnn Bagby

November 15, 1944 ~ July 13, 2019 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Tribute

JoAnn Marie Eula Bagby, 74 was granted her angel wings on July 13, 2019 after a long hard-fought battle with cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that JoAnn had touched throughout her life.
JoAnn was born on November 15, 1944 to Raymond and Viciell Taylor and was raised on the Taylor family homestead outside of Marsing. She attended Sunnyslope Elementary and later graduated from Marsing High School in 1963. JoAnn attended Graceland College before she transferred to the College of Idaho where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
JoAnn married John Allen and in 1970 they had a daughter Teresa and in 1972 came along twin boys Todd and Toby. The family lived in Caldwell for a short time before moving to Burley, Idaho. John and JoAnn later divorced.
While in Burley, JoAnn started her career as a Human Resource Manager for the J.R. Simplot Company and she began working toward her master’s degree in Business Administration. However, things changed a bit when she met Joe Bagby.
On June 29, 1986 JoAnn married the light of her life and her soulmate, Joe Bagby. They lived in Burley until 1998 when they moved back to the homestead to care for her mother, Viciell Taylor.
JoAnn worked for the J.R. Simplot Company for 30 years. After she retired from Simplot, she and Connie Demond started BD Employment Solutions, Inc in 2004. In 2011 she sold the business so she and Joe could really retire and travel.
Retirement consisted of camping trips with her family, boating, cruises, a once in a lifetime trip to Italy with her sorority sisters, and a visit to Hawaii with Joe. JoAnn was a very proud supporter of BSU football and attended several bowl games with her family. But retirement didn’t stop there, she traveled to Blackfoot to watch her grandsons play baseball, football and even saddle bronc riding by her middle grandson (she wasn’t happy about that sport choice.) JoAnn’s family was her world, from watching her great-granddaughter Jenna learn to swim and all the boys and their sports, it made her so proud to see each of them grow into the young adults they had started to become. Her one and only great-grandchild, Jenna, was her partner in crime and if she had her way Jenna was always close.
