Jaclyn Dawn Zabel… a Tribute by her Father Terry.
Jaclyn Dawn Zabel was born on June 30, 1988 to the parents of Dawn and Terry Zabel. At about 15 months old, Jaclyn became very sick which resulted in her loss of hearing, but that didn’t stop her from living her life to the fullest! Throughout her childhood Jaclyn participated in basketball, softball, volleyball and was very involved with church activities. She was a smart kid and was able to stay in a mainstream school with just the assistance of an interpreter. At the age of 12, she moved with her family out to the country and started raising many animals on the farm. Jackie had such a strong love for animals and the outdoors.
When she was about 13 she underwent a procedure and received a cochlear implant. One of the very first sounds she heard was that of a goat “bahhing”. It was such a blessing!
She also enjoyed high school drag racing, driving her Dad’s 1967 Camaro at Firebird Raceway, where she won many trophies and ribbons. In 2007, Jackie graduated from Mountain View High School and later that year married Kyle Haver.
On August 9, 2007, Jaclyn gave birth to her first born, Willow Dawn. On October 27, 2008 she gave birth to her second daughter, Aspen Francie. She later divorced and met Ian. Jackie and her young family moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, where she then gave birth to her third daughter, River Sky on July 13, 2010. In 2012, Jaclyn gave birth to her one and only son, Knight Star on April 17th. Jaclyn was such a loving, caring, kindhearted mother, daughter, sister and friend! Her kids were most important to her. A few months ago Jackie and her family moved back to Caldwell to be closer to her family and friends. We will forever cherish the moments we spent with her.
Jackie is survived by her father, Terry; mother, Dawn; sisters, Mary, Sheila, Stephanie and Charlene; brother, Terry; her 4 children, Willow, Aspen, River and Knight; and 9 nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her Grandma and Grandpa Zabel.
