J.D. Scott, age 87, died Sunday, September 23, 2018, of natural causes at the Serenity Skilled Nursing Center at Twin Falls, Idaho. J.D. was born June 21,1931 to Hester Burris and Roy Scott in Ava, Missouri. He attended School in Parma. There he met and married Irma Abbott. They were married June 29, 1951.
J.D. served in the Korean Conflict and upon returning went to Oregon Technical Institute, where he received a degree in auto mechanics. J.D. and Irma lived in Caldwell, Idaho for over 40 years, where J.D. worked for Burns Chevrolet, owned his own business, Gem State Auto, worked at Edmark Motors, and before retirement was a partner in Dan and J’s Auto.
In the 1990's, J.D. and Irma moved to the Abbott farm in Roswell and lived there until 2006 when he moved to Gooding, Idaho.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Irma, his parents, Hester and Roy Scott, and his sister Joyce.
He is survived by his children Cindy Scott of Gooding, Jim Scott (Linda) of Tacoma, WA, and Don Scott (Jolyn) of Tacoma, WA; 9 grandchildren, Teresa Thiemann, Chris Watson, Amanda Pope, Eric Scott, Greg Scott, Heather Scott, Kirsten Scott, Charlotte Scott, and Jack Scott; and 8 great grandchildren, Alexius Brass, Cassidy Brass, Zoe Kelley, Jay Watson, Jayden Pope, Darcy Pope, Nora Pope, and Colton Scott, Bryson Moon and Kellen Moon. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Delmer Scott and Mack Scott.
A viewing will be held on September 28, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell followed by a graveside service September 28, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Roswell Cemetery officiated by Pastor Kurt Hardenbrook.
