Harold Wayne Malmstrom, 71, of Boise, ID passed away Monday June 17, 2019 at his home.
Wayne was born to John and Shirley (Remington) Malmstrom on February 16, 1948 in Boise, ID. He attended Boise schools, graduating from Borah High School. Wayne joined the United States Army in August of 1969. Wayne is a Vietnam War Veteran and received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart during his time in the military.
Wayne is survived by his daughter Kiley and granddaughter Kaelin; his brothers, John and Richard, his sisters Margaret, Roberta, Toni Jo, and Debbie; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Wayne was proceeded in death by his father John and mother Shirley.
Ever the creator and seeker of knowledge, Wayne designed everything from paper punch machines to ham radio antennas and bench rest rifles to wings on super modified race cars. Wayne was always willing to share his knowledge with anyone who asked. He was a “jack of all trades” and met many great friends along the way who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 19, 2019, 11am at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N Horseshoe Bend Rd, in Boise, ID 83714. A memorial potluck lunch reception will follow at the Boise VFW Hall, 8931 W Ardene St, in Boise, ID 83709 from 12 to 2pm.
