Hail Williams, 81, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from complications of bladder cancer and Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on November 30, 1939 in Herpel, Arkansas. His mother died when he was three years old and his father when he was six, leaving he and his sister, Linda, orphans. They were shuffled to various family members in the years to follow. When Hail was 12 years old, he left Arkansas with his sister and they came to live with his sister, Wanda, in Idaho. Finally, they had a stable home, however tragedy struck again, when Linda drowned at Givens Hot Springs.
Hail drove for Garrett Freightways and retired from Consolidated Freightways, after 26 years on the road. In retirement, he took up golf and played many days at Purple Sage Golf Course. Hail loved his garden and a beautiful yard.
We would like to thank Heart ‘n Home Hospice and Mike and Liz Bolts, for the care he received and we’re so grateful he was able to remain at home.
Hail is survived by his wife, Roberta, son David, daughter Julie, stepson Scott (Kathy) Ode and his precious niece, Jan Stephens Humphries (Wally Humphries) and brother Jerry Williams.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
