Georgia Lynn Proctor

Georgia Lynn Proctor, 71 years, of Parma, Idaho, died Wednesday April 7, 2021 at St Luke’s in Nampa, Idaho with her husband and three sons at her side.
Georgia was born March 11, 1950 in Ontario, Oregon to Foy and Linda Brown. She graduated in 1968 from Parma High School. Georgia married her high school sweetheart, Dowie T. Proctor Sr. (Ted) September 20, 1968, soon after he returned from his Army tour in Vietnam. Together they continued Ted’s Army enlistment. They lived in Kansas and then Fort Bragg, North Carolina where Georgia gave birth to her first son, Dowie T. (Ted Jr.) in 1969.  After Ted Sr.’s honorable discharge they moved back and settled in Idaho.  In 1972, they had their second son, Jeffrey Mark and in 1973, their 3rd son Christopher Allen.  
Georgia worked seasonally for Amalgamated Sugar in the Tare Lab at the Nyssa, Oregon plant from 1974 until operations closed at that location in 2005.
On August 20, 1983 Georgia started driving school bus for Parma School District #137.  She spent the next 31 years driving kids Kindergarten through 12th grade to and from school.  She was proud of the job and the years she spent building relationships and watching many Parma children become young adults. On August 31, 2014 Georgia retired from the school district following her second battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.  She spent her retirement years cancer free.
Georgia and Ted Sr. celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in September of 2018, at a surprise anniversary party where many family members, including her sons were able to attend together.  Georgia and Ted Sr. spent many years together in retirement enjoying their grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Georgia loved to sit outside and watch the birds. She had a special place in her heart for the hummingbirds. We think she felt like her mom sent them to watch over her.  She loved collecting elephants and painted ponies. 
Georgia is survived by her husband, Ted Sr., sons, Ted Jr. and wife Chelby of Nampa, Idaho, Jeff and wife SusAnn of Pocatello, Idaho, and Chris and wife Elizabeth of Parma, Idaho.  Her grandchildren, Chelsey, Ryan, Kaitlyn (Aaron), Tyler, Daniel, Lane (Kaylee), Nicole, Sarah and Colton and her two great-grandchildren, Xander and Declan. 
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents Foy and Linda and her brother Richard.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 A.M., followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M.  at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, 504 S. Kimball Ave, Caldwell Idaho 83605. Grave side services will be at the Parma Cemetery, 307 W Grove Street, Parma, Idaho. 83660.
