Gary Frederick Porta

Gary Frederick Porta, 58 of Nampa, Idaho. Passed at home surrounded by his loved ones, on the 16th of January of 2023 after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Gary was born in Redwood City, CA on July 5, 1964 to Pauline Prather and Fred Porta. He was raised in Mountain View, CA. As a teen he loved bike riding, his 64’ Chevy and his Nova which sparked his love for working on cars. Gary also enjoyed hanging with his friends and playing water polo.

After knowing each other for most of their lives, he married his true love, Kim Porta. They were married on May, 28th, 2005 in Reno, NV, they blended their family of seven children. As a couple, they loved to travel and as a family, they enjoyed being outdoors together.

Gary was a kind and dependable father which was of the utmost importance to him. He will always be remembered for being a great son, husband, father, grandfather and friend he was.

In addition to his mom, sisters, wife and kids; he is survived by 3 step siblings, 11 grandkids and 3 daughter in-laws. He was preceded in passing by his father.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at Dakan Funeral Chapel, 504 S Kimball Ave., Caldwell, Idaho.
