Gary Lynn Kinney went home to be with Jesus, January 21, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. Gary was born July 18, 1947 in Caldwell, Idaho, the son of Claude and Grace Kinney. He graduated high school in 1965 and during that summer, he met the love of his life, Marilyn Honey. They were married September 2, 1966 and resided with their children Laura and Kevin. They were married 27 years before Marilyn’s passing in December 1993. He was given a second chance at love when he married Sheri Reynolds in 1996 until her passing in March 2023. Gary worked for McCluskey Commissary for many years before going to work for Quality Mart Meats. In 1984, he owned and operated Uncle Bob's Restaurant before returning to Quality Mart until his retirement. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing along with many hobbies and spent many years enjoying those things with his close friends and family. His son, Kevin, was his favorite companion during those trips. He was adventurous, was always trying something new and put in his full effort in whatever his current interest was. He could tell a story like no other and he always had a joke to share. He enjoyed bass fishing with his brother Randy, camping with his family, antiquing, trips to Sumpter and playing Texas Holdem in Wendover. He loved his family and the time he spent with each of them. He was a grandfather, a great grandfather and dear friend to many and he will be missed dearly. Gary and Sheri also had a beloved dog named Buddy. Gary is survived by his children, Laura and husband Michael McClelland of Burleson, Texas; Kevin and wife Mandy Kinney of Moses Lake, Washington; grandchildren, Megan and husband Mitchel Herron, Nicole McClelland, Cydney Kinney, Dylan Kinney, and Bryson Kinney; seven great-grandchildren; his Brother Randy and wife Kathie Kinney of Vale, OR; step-sister Mary and husband Frank Korn of Caldwell; sister-in-law’s Carolyn Dietrich of Meridian, Sandy and husband Willis Kinder of Wendell and Valerie and husband Gary Kelley of Caldwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
