Ethel B. Case, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on August 28, 2017 with her family by her side at a Nampa care center. Graveside services, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel are planned for Thursday August 31, 2017 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 15862 S Indiana Ave, Caldwell, Idaho, 2:00pm.
Ethel was born November 11, 1937 in Hailey, Idaho to Marvin and Anna Marie Thomas. She grew up in Eastern Idaho graduating from Pocatello High School in 1955. From there Ethel joined the Navy and proudly served as a WAVE from 1955 until 1957 when she left to marry the love of her life, Ed. They lived in many different places in the United States following Ed’s career in the Navy. Until he retired from the military and they moved to Caldwell, Idaho to be near family.
Ethel loved her family and friends. Her faith and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints were a key part of her life. Raising her family and taking care of her home were very important to her and she enjoyed working outside the home as her family grew. She loved to be in the service of others and continued to do so until her health made it difficult to continue.
Ethel is proceeded in death by her parents, a brother Marvin Thomas Jr., and her beloved husband Ed. Ethel is survived by her children Carl (Becky), Phillip, Sue (Kim), Tom (Mary Jo), Curt, Donald (Chana), Eska (Michael), and Jeremy (Angela), and many, much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Family Life Memory Center and Keystone hospice for their loving care and help with mom.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent in Ethel’s name to any organization serving Alzheimer’s research and care. We love you mom and will miss you dearly. Now you can for sure tell dad “I told you so”.
