Elma Louise Miles (Waters) was called back home to live with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Nampa, Idaho surrounded by family members.
Elma was born in Mt. Home, Idaho on June 30, 1931 the first of eight children to Lester Waters and Rosalie Waters (Biswell). While she was growing up, they moved several times, finally settling in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho where she attended high school and married Donald Vere Miles on November 22, 1948 in Lewiston, Idaho. After marrying Don, she graduated from high school in Lava Hot Springs. Don and Elma were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on December 28, 1962.
They had 4 children; Donald Lewis, Dorothy Kay, Richard Thomas, and Raymond Dean. Don went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad and they moved regularly – 26 times before settling in Caldwell, Idaho in 1964.
Elma worked several retail jobs and also had a rural route for the Idaho Statesman and she drove a school bus for a few years.
On February 2, 2004, Elma had a massive stroke which resulted in her being admitted to a full-care nursing home and remained there until her death. She is survived by two sisters and one brother, all four of her children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2018 at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, with viewing just prior to services from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Cloverdale Memorial Park Cemetery, Boise.
