Elaine Nordahl passed away peacefully in our home in Idaho on May, 17that the age of 78. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Dale Nordahl, her son Gary, daughter-in-law Kristy, and two grandchildren, Katie & Nicole.
She was born on March 22nd1945. She spent a majority of her life living in El Cerrito surrounded by her family. Elaine ran a daycare out of her home for more than 33 years and was a mother figure to many. She loved every child she took care of and made sure to celebrate their birthdays, take them to the lake, and be there for them whenever she could.
After retirement Elaine volunteered in the Kindergarten class at St. Jerome’s in El Cerrito for five years.
During her free time Elaine loved to garden. She spent long days in her yard planting flowers, watching hummingbirds and squirrels. loved cooking, having dinners with her family and watching her grandchildren grow up.
We miss her dearly but are happy knowing her positive impact on this world.
Grandma’s Poem
She was an Angel and full of light.
Sent to guide us through our life.
She watched us growing up.
But that time was not enough.
She worked long days in the sun
And cooked us dinner when she was done
She cared for many children, as if they were her own
She welcomed them into her home
Days spent with Grandma were great
Especially when we were at the Lake
Painting rocks and doing crafts
Are days were filled with love and laughs
Grandma always helped those in need
Even the cats she would feed
She never failed to show love and grace
Even given the pain she faced
Losing grandma was the worst
I love you Grandma, told you first.
