Edith “Edie” Marie Welch was born May 8, 1951. She passed away June 15, 2021, at home of natural causes. Edie was the fourth of five children to Gordon and Betty Wittenborn. Edie married James Welch on May 29, 1969. Edie and James made their home in Sand Hollow. Edie stayed at their home until she passed away. They have two wonderful children Shane Jay and Kimberly Sue. Shane lives in Marsing, Idaho with his wife Shannon. They have three children Jeffrey, Kathlyn, and Kourtney. Jeffrey and his wife Liz live in Marsing, Idaho with their daughter Graycie. Kathlyn lives in Nampa, Idaho with her fiancé Matt Warner. Kourtney lives in Marsing, Idaho with her husband Steven Despain. Kimberly lives in Cedar Falls, Iowa with her husband Lewis.
Edie worked for Teton Sales for many years. She later went to work for Metro Community Services. She enjoyed taking care of people and made many friends in doing so. She did this job until a year and a half ago. At which time she stayed home and enjoyed the company of her dogs Hercules, DeDe, Mr Gibbs, and Gypsy. She loved being outside. She loved working in the yard, flower beds, and garden. Edie loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, great grandchild, and the rest of the family she had. She called Graycie her little nurse. Doreen Wittenborn was her sister-in-law, but they thought of each other as sisters.
Edie is survived by her son and daughter in law Shane and Shannon Welch, daughter and son in law Kimberly and Lewis Johnson. She is also survived by grandchildren Jeffrey and Liz Welch and great granddaughter Graycie Welch, Kathlyn Welch and fiancé Matt Warner, Kourtney and Steven Despain. She is survived by Doreen Wittenborn and her family.
The family is having a Celebration of Life from Noon to 2pm on July 17, 2021, at 16162 Sand Hollow Road Caldwell, Idaho 83607. The family would like to thank Canyon Home Care and Hospice for the terrific care they provided Edie.
