Douglas William Maude passed away on June 11, 2022, at the age of 78. He was born in Gooding, Idaho on March 10, 1944, to William Chippendale Maude and Marjorie (Moon) Maude. Doug met his wife Cheryl (Hulme) Maude at Hagerman High School. They married on June 18th, 1965, and moved to Caldwell, Idaho in 1968 where they raised their two sons. Doug worked at the family-owned trucking company Don’s Frozen Express until he passed away. He was often heard telling people that he enjoyed working with his two sons so much that he wouldn’t consider retirement. Throughout his life Doug was interested in many athletic activities, he was a competitive water skier and ski jumper as well as a competitive cross country motorcycle racer. He was a recreational downhill skier, played tennis, and golfed regularly for years. At the age of 67, Doug discovered running and after competing in the Robie Creek half marathon several times he decided to take on the Idaho Potato full marathon at the age of 70. Doug was devoted to his wife and family. He was always present for sporting events, school programs and other activities that his children and grandchildren participated in cheering them on and encouraging them to be their very best. Doug was always willing to lend a hand to any of them when they needed his help. He was a great friend to many, he cared for many stray animals, but he was especially dedicated to his pet teacup poodles.
 
Douglas William Maude leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Cheryl (Hulme) Maude, two sons; Don (Tamala) Maude, Douglas (Gabrielle) Maude, three grandchildren; Amber (Jarel) Lewis, Donavan (Chelsea) Maude, Dylan Maude, two great grandchildren; Lola Don Lewis and Elynor Lewis as well as his mother-in-law Leota Hulme. He also leaves behind three siblings, Janet Mason, Garry Maude, Janice Urie and their families.
  
Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 15th, 11:00 am at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 N Meridian Road, Meridian, Idaho. A reception immediately to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in honor of Doug Maude to the West Valley Humane Society in Caldwell, Idaho.
