Donna D (Hazen) Mount, 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in Nampa, Idaho. She was born in Creighton, Nebraska on January 31, 1936.
Donna married Robert Franklin (Bob) Mount in Marsing, Idaho on December 25, 1953. The couple lived most of their lives in Marsing, raising their family there. They lived for three years in Boise, Idaho in the 1960’s. Donna resided at Brookstone Village Assisted Living Center in Nampa the past four and a half years.
Donna loved to be with people, good friends, and mostly her family. Throughout her life, family is what brought Donna her most joy from her three kids, to the numerous nieces, nephews, and then grandkids and great-grandkids. When family visited Donna at Brookstone Village, she would delight in time spent with them and talk about their visits for days afterwards. Recently, her great-grandkids were her absolute delight. She loved the little ones and hated to see their visits end. If one word defined Donna, It was “family”.
Everyone that knew Donna also knew of her love for the color “pink”. From the time she was a little girl, Donna wore pink just about every day. As the grandkids started coming, she was soon known as “Pink Grandma”, not only to her grandkids but everyone else’s kids and grandkids in Marsing.
Donna is survived by her son, Robert (Nancy) Mount, son, Ray Dean (Marla) Mount, daughter Janie (Voss) Nielsen, and step-daughter Karen (Rod) Foster, 9 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 20th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 21st at l0:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
In lieu of flowers, Donna requested donations be made in her name to the Marsing Fire, Marsing Ambulance, or Marsing Disaster Auction.
The family would like to thank Brookstone Village and Doctor’s Hospice for their loving care and compassion in caring for Pink Grandma the past four and a half years.
The family would also like to request in honor of “Pink Grandma”, if you are able to attend the service on Thursday, please wear your favorite “pink” attire.
