Della “Hap” Faye Bowman, 80 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, June 24, 2019 at a Boise hospital.
Hap was born on December 18, 1938 at Tacoma, Washington, to Douglas and Belva Blewett. A younger brother, Lee, joined their family a few years later. Hap was very protective of her little brother. Lee was often bullied in school and Hap would step in and take care of the bullies for him. As a family they did a lot of moving around but wherever they went Hap was quick to make friends.
At the age of 18, Hap married Clarence David Bell in April of 1957. Together they brought three wonderful children into the world, Carol in 1958 (who sadly passed in 2000), David in 1960 and Edward in 1969. Hap and Clarence were married for 32 years before his passing in 1989.
Hap’s family grew to include six grandchildren, James (Thany), Terry (Shawna), Michael, Craig, Joey, and Rylee; and continued to grow with five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Trevor, Zach, Isabella, and Faith.
Hap remarried on June 25, 1994 to Cloyd R. Bowman.
Hap enjoyed doing many activities including bowling, gardening, camping and spending time with her family. When she was married to Clarence they loved dancing and were so good they would clear the dance floor and put on a show! Hap has always been a caring, thoughtful, and loving lady. She really was a sweetheart with a big heart. Hap was given her nickname because not only was she so happy all the time, but she made everyone around her happy, too!
Please join us in celebrating Hap’s life on Tuesday evening, July 2nd at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service starting at 6:00 p.m.
