David Terry May, 79, of Middleton passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the First Southern Baptist Church, Caldwell under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.
Dave was born June 23, 1939 in Camden, Arkansas to Raymond and Myrtle “Lee” May. Dave was married to his high school sweetheart, Ruby Bramlett on March 31, 1956 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960 as an aviation machinist’s mate- reciprocating engine mechanic, and received a good conduct medal and honorable discharge. Together they raised four children.
Dave has a successful business in Caldwell and previously in two other states with over fifty (50) years of experience in the rotational molding-plastic industry.
Dave loved photography and was an avid reader. He will best be remembered for his generosity, trust in others, and his keen wit. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Dave especially enjoyed annual dove hunting in Arizona with his sons, brother, and cousins. He enjoyed traveling with Ruby in his RV ministering to pastors and providing assistance to different mission projects throughout the United States. He also enjoyed spending time with family at his cabin in Cascade.
The anchors of Dave’s life were his love for Christ and his love for his family. He was ordained as a deacon with the Westminster, First Baptist Church in 1973. He helped start three different mission churches over a period of ten years and was an active member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Caldwell. His favorite song was “Victory in Jesus”.
Dave is preceded in death by his father Raymond May and his mother Myrtle Lee Kroneman, Stepfather Vern Kroneman, and his brother Ronald May.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three (63) years, Ruby and his four children, daughter Terry and her husband Russ, and sons Raymond, Jody and his wife Tonya, and David and his wife Keri and eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
