Dave and I went all through school together including Solano. We were friends, room mates and team mates. I'm sorry I lost touch with him after he moved to Nevada. No better friend was he...

Connie, Sam and Juliana, I write deeply saddened to hear of your loss. My condolences. Dave was an incredible guy, and I enjoyed every moment I was honored to spend with him either talking football or talking trash over our fantasy teams or reminiscing about our mutual regional upbringing. The man was always in great spirits with that great smile, which always snapped me into a good mood. No one could resist being cheered in Dave's presence. I'm grateful for his influence and for the privilege of calling him a friend. I'm richer for knowing him.

Coach Hart and Family,

Thanks for being a great mentor to me. I began my coaching and teaching career in 1995 with you as the A.D. and Head football coach; I have coached and taught ever since. You made the job fun and you looked after everyone involved with respect and care. Your office couch was a great place to sit down and have a much needed conversation on just about anything. You never turned anyone away and you always made time, even when you probably shouldn't have. Please be confident the lessons taught to me and to your students/athletes were heard and are being faithfully passed on to the next generation. Thanks Again.

On behalf of Lorie and I, please know that you are all in our hearts and prayers. Dave "Bear" is one of the most incredible human beings I've ever had the blessing and pleasure to know. He was a great coach, great friend, and make no mistake, he was absolutely a great mentor to all of us, his collegues, as well as his students and athletes! His influence will live on forever.

Dear Connie, Sam and Juliana,
We are very sorry to hear of David's passing and wanted to let you know that at this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers join with so many others, in asking for the Lord's comfort in your sorrow. Your husband and father was a good hearted, kind man who leaves behind an inspiring legacy. He touched the lives of so many students and people in Fernley. We hope it provides a small amount of comfort to know that many loved and cared about him and all of you too. We are truly sorry for your loss. The world is a better place because of his life and passion for his students. We honor his memory and keep you all in our hearts and prayers. Jenetah Walker- Taylor (Avant) and James Avant

I hope that all the great memories he has built with each of you helps to bring comfort as you adjust to the world that is just not quite right without him. His big heart and the hundreds of people he inspired are an amazing legacy.
