Darrell L. Heck, 54, of Caldwell, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 15, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 25th at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Darrell was born August 27, 1963, the middle child of Tom Heck and Alberta Brock. He has a beautiful daughter, Roxy Kitchen. Darrell grew up in Caldwell and spent most of his young adult life riding motorcycles and working at the family business, B & T Auto Sales. His junior year of high school he was in a severe motorcycle accident with his friend, John. Darrell suffered a broken neck, back, and leg that required a 3 month hospital stay. His recovery continued at his grandparents’ home for another couple of months. He never fully recovered and lived his life with many aches and pains.
Darrell followed in his father’s footsteps by loaning money to his family and friends. You could always find him at B&T Wrecking Yard or at his home resting. He loved fishing and hunting deer, elk and bear. He was a collector of old bottles and rocks.
Darrell’s last few years were spent with his daughter, Roxy. Together they enjoyed watching Tom and Jerry cartoons, eating fast food and homemade chocolate cake baked by Roxy for dessert.
Most people would say that he had a soft heart, never complained, and spoke kindly about the people he knew. Darrell always had a smile, a cheesy grin and a giggle for everyone.
Darrell was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Alberta Grace Brock; father, Thomas Robert Heck; and brother, Burton Thomas Heck.
He is survived by his daughter, Roxy Marie Kitchen; his sister and brother-in-law, Lesa (Pat) Darling, and their children, Kimberly, Eric, Cason, Linsey, Krystal, and Vianna; his half-sister, Angel Nilsson and her family; a niece, Mary (Johnathon) Laurie; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
