Daniel Markley Rohrbacher, 78, passed away peacefully December 13th, 2019, at his home in Parma surrounded by loved ones.
He was born March 15th, 1941 to Samuel Piercy Rohrbacher and Carolyn Jane Markley in Nampa, Idaho. His family moved to Parma when he was less than a year old and he has resided in Parma his entire life.
He attended grade school and J.R. High at the old Ten Davis School and graduated from Parma High School in 1959.
Dan married his high school sweetheart, Carol Ann Miller, in the Idaho Falls Temple February 24th, 1962. They built their lives around family, farming and being a part of the small town of Parma.
He loved working and serving in his community. He has served on multiple boards throughout the area. He has also fulfilled many callings serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints including Bishop of the Parma Ward and in the stake presidency where he developed many dear friendships.
His family and farming were his greatest passions. He had a gift to help people feel
loved and important, he could strike up a friendship with anyone, anywhere. Conversations with him were filled with food, laughter and love. His family will always cherish the memories of family vacations, riding hours next to him on the combine, fishing, hunting and enjoying time around the dinner table. His children and 14 grandchildren were the joy of his life and treasured the times he spent attending their activities, especially as he cheered from the sidelines of many sporting events.
Dan and Carol served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Nauvoo Illinois where they developed many more lifelong friends. He always talked of that time as being very special and was grateful for the opportunity.
Family remaining are his sweetheart, Carol; children, Eileen (Tom) Lewis of Meridian, Idaho, Harold (Liz) Rohrbacher of Parma, Idaho, Mark (Susan) Rohrbacher of Parma, Idaho, Helen (Ben) Hancock of Parma, Idaho; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Raymond Rohrbacher of Emmett, Idaho.
